Notice of a meeting of the Channel Management Committee also constitutes notice of a meeting of the entire WMMB Board of Directors.  However, only business of the Channel Management Committee will be conducted at this meeting.

Come join Barrie Lynn – the Cheese Impresario at her Artisanal Cheese & Wine Pairing Adventure Class.  She will be teaching people how to get more pleasure when enjoying cheese and wine pairings.  Barrie Lynn will be celebrating the artisan cheesemakers of Wisconsin and pairing these cheeses with a selection of fine wines. 

This one-day food and wine event will feature the best of the best from the culinary and beverage worlds. The celebration will include the most popular local, national and international food personalities from print, radio, television and cable, as well as the best food from little "mom & pop" kitchens throughout Los Angeles. Throughout the day, leading mixologists will create unique and artistic cocktail creations in addition to providing everyone with a taste from the finest microbeers and wines to rum, tequila, vodka and whiskey.

Author of 10 cookbooks and former feature writer for Emeril Lagasse, Chef Judy Gilliard will host a seminar and VIP Wisconsin Cheese table at the Omaha Riverfront Wine Festival on Sunday, August 29, 2010, beginning at 3:00 p.m. Chef Judy is currently an ambassador for Wisconsin Cheese.  Last year, "Judy a la carte" joined the team of Three Eagles Communications to bring its very successful show to Lincoln, Nebraska, which airs weekdays from 10-11 AM on KFOR 1240am. She also syndicates a 1-minute feature called Courage in the Kitchen, designed to give listeners quick and easy tips to make the kitchen a fun place to enter. Enjoy your time with Judy during this memorable exploration through Wisconsin Cheese.

All featured cheeses, including American Grana, CreamyGorg, Fresh Mozzarella and Crescenza-Stracchino, will be provided by BelGioioso Cheese, located in Denmark, WI.  For more information go to www.riverfrontwinefestival.com.

Jaclyn Stuart and Jeannette Hurt, authors of the recently published The Complete Idiot's Guide to Wine and Food Pairing, will be presenting a wine and cheese tasting class and book signing at Drinks Over Dearborn on August 17, from 6:30 - 8:30 p.m.  Jaclyn is a certified sommelier and wine distributor, and Jeanette is an expert in all things cheese, having previously authored The Cheeses of Wisconsin: A Culinary Travel Guide.

Wisconsin Cheese will join R. Hirt Distributors at Jolly Pumpkin Restaurant & Brewery on August 10, 2010, for a chef competition using using Wisconsin Cheese in a dish paired with a micro beer.  The event will go from 4:00 - 8:00 PM.  Chef Michael Symon will be a guest judge. 

 

Join Barrie Lynn - the Cheese Impresario - on Sunday, August 8, at the Waterfront Hotel next to Miss Pearl's Jam House Restaurant, where she will be pairing Wisconsin artisanal cheeses with a vast array of rum and rum cocktails.  Just bring your libation to her table and she will guide you to the perfect cheese to pair with your drink!

 

On Friday, August 6, Barrie Lynn - The Cheese Impresario, and San Francisco Chef Holly Rhoades Le Du, will be making Barrie Lynn’s famous Grilled Cheese Sandwich at Bloomingdales on Market Street.  This sandwich, which was an award-winner at the Los Angeles Grilled Cheese Invitational, and perfectly named OOOOHHHH!, is an unusual version of a sweet savory combination.  It’s grilled with Wisconsin artisanal blue veined cheese with a layer of nut brittle inside.  This is one of those knock your socks off sandwiches!

 

Share Our Strength’s Taste of the Nation® Denver will take place on Sunday, July 18, at Mile High Station.  Take advantage of this opportunity to sample the finest foods, spirits and wine from some of Denver’s most recognized culinary experts and noted restaurants.  Sampling Wisconsin Cheeses from BelGioioso Cheese, Carr Valley Cheese, Crave Brothers Farmstead Cheese and Emmi-Roth Kase will be 2010-2011 WMMB Chef Ambassador Jorge Miguel de le Torre, Dean of Culinary Arts at Johnson & Wales University, and 2004-2005 WMMB Chef Ambassador Goose Sorensen, Executive Chef/Owner of Solera Restaurant.

The Wisconsin Timber Rattlers will once again host Salute to Cows night on June 10th at Fox Cities Stadium in Appleton, WI. The Wisconsin Milk Marketing Board along with DuPont Cheese will be handing out dairy materials and cheese curds to all in attendance along with multiple dairy-related activities throughout the stadium.

Come celebrate your love of cheese at the Great Wisconsin Cheese Festival. This wonderful family event includes music, food, amusement rides, childrens entertainment, walk/run, parade, animal petting zoo, cheese carving demonstrations, cheese tasting, cheese curd eating contest, cheese breakfast, cheesecake contest, and more!

The festival will open at 5 p.m. on Friday night and will feature a cheese curd eating contest and musical entertainment of RPM.

Saturday will feature the big cheese parade, cheese carving demonstrations, children's entertainment, free cheese tasting, petting zoo, chainsaw artist, and musical entertainment by Straight Chuters, Sonic Circus and Half Empty.

Sunday will feature the big cheese breakfast (held at LC Civic Center), cheesecake contest, children's entertainment, free cheese tasting, Little Chute Community Band, and the band performances of Homemade Brew and McInnis

There will also be many food booths, novelty booths, children's rides ($1/ride), and games all three days.

Adult (age 13 & up) -- $5 ($4 if purchased by June 3)
Child (age 4 to 12) -- $3 ($2 if purchased by June 3)
3 & under -- free

Sunday: Free admission for all.
