International Star Chefs Congress

Wisconsin Cheese will be a gold sponsor for the upcoming International Star Chefs Congress in NYC. The three-day culinary symposium hosts 60 of the world's most influential and innovative chefs, pastry chefs, mixologists, and sommeliers where they present the latest techniques and culinary concepts to their peers. Chef demonstrations, hands-on chef, pastry and mixology workshops, career counseling sessions, wine tastings, business seminars, and expert panels on current industry topics. The Congress will be held at the Park Avenue Armory in the heart of Manhattan's Upper East Side.

Wisconsin Cheese and Wine Dinners Texas Tour

July 28-30, 2008

Chef Ambassador Kent Rathbun hosted dinners in Houston, Austin and Dallas featuring 14 Wisconsin Cheeses on a 5 course menu. Media, foodservice distributors, specialty retailers and Texas foodies attended the sold-out dinners.

James Beard Awards

June 8, 2008

Wisconsin Cheese was honored to showcase to the world's most prominent culinary talent, at the 2008 James Beard Foundation Awards in New York. Wisconsin Milk Marketing Board (WMMB) sponsored the prestigious awards, titled "Artisanal America: the Craft of Cuisine." Through featured chefs, small-scale producers and specialty products, the awards recognized the growing appreciation for food artisanship.

A selection of artisan Wisconsin cheeses were prominently displayed at a tasting table during the Awards Gala Reception and served on a VIP cheese course at the Awards Ceremony. Wisconsin Cheesemaker Willi Lehner from Bleu Mont Dairy showcased his Bandaged Cheddar during the event along with other Wisconsin specialties including Marieke's Raw Milk Gouda, Saxon Creamery Big Ed's, Hook's 10-Year Cheddar and Seymour Dairy Ader Käse™. Award-winning Pleasant Ridge Reserve from Uplands Cheese in Dodgeville also starred in a special dish prepared by Chef Tory Miller of L'Etoile restaurant.

Taste of the Nation Event

June 1, 2008

Through our partnership with west coast distributor Chefs Warehouse and Chef Ambassador Govind Armstrong's Table 8 restaurant, WMMB agreed to sponsor, attend and participate in this event which attracts fine dining chefs in a key market area in hopes to increase Wisconsin Cheese interest and gain distribution through the distributor connection.
